We are finally diving into one of the most controversial games/topics in the Metroid series: Metroid Prime Federation Force! What went wrong? Why did Nintendo decide on a chibi art style? Welcome to another first edition of a going-to-be-semi-regular series of episodes on the podcast - Inspired By Metroid! Axiom Verge is one of the best Super Metroid-esq games ever made, and in many ways, is better than many Metroid games themselves! Oh boy. Strap in because Dak and Andy are going to war over a topic near and dear to Dak's heart: Metroid Prime Hunters! We don't talk about the game itself, but the multiplayer character based shooter concept of it instead and argue whether Metroid is the right series to launch a Nintendo specific character based FPS. Do Metroid fans like multiplayer? Could Nintendo even make this game good? Does anybody remember the other Hunters? And the big one - is Metroid Prime a first person shooter?

Welcome to the very first edition of a going-to-be-semi-regular series of shows called Mapping Metroid! This series is going to focus on exploring a single area from one Metroid game and really having an in-depth discussion about it. To get us started off, the boys pick an area near and dear to them - Phendrana Drifts!
Come listen as we talk about our first impressions of Phendrana, what rooms in particular we really like, what enemies stick out to us, which powerups and expansions are cool, what we think of the music, which pieces of lore are really interesting, and so much more! This is the first Mapping Metroid, and we're on the lookout for suggestions on what to cover next!

What in the world was up with that Samus reference in the new trailer for Paper Mario: The Origami King? Was it just a coincidence, or something more? This week, Andy and Dak discuss the months long rumors about a new Paper Mario and 2D Metroid game coming to the Switch and debate what the chances a new Metroid game coming out in 2020 are now since the other half of the rumor came true.

The Chozo Memories in Samus Returns give us a bit of a clearer picture (maybe), so we break them down and theorize on the events depicted in the memories, and the origins and very nature of Samus herself!
