That's right, the guys go through literally every single Metroid box art since the franchise's inception and rank them on their own tier lists. Unlike our "Definitive Ranking" episodes, here Dak and Doom work on their own individual tier lists to see how they pan out compared to one another. Will your favorite box art make it to Omega Tier? It's time to find out!

This week on the show, Dak and Doom hold down the fort while Andy is busy preparing for the Zelda Dungeon Marathon! Last week, we ran another Q&A episode, and we got a lot of questions from one of our community members and Omega Metroid team members, TheAccursedHunter aka Big Griff. We couldn't get to all of his questions last week, so this week we decided to not only get to those questions, but to have him on the show to join us for the discussion!
In this second part of the Q&A, we chat about our favorite Metroid music and original Metroid songs that outshine their many remixes; whether or not Samus' power suit is a superpower or a piece of equipment; how the Wide Beam could work in Metroid Prime; how underwater areas could work in an open world Metroid; and more!

Strap in for a juicy episode! While there was no Metroid news shown at the recent Direct, a lot of stuff that could affect the future of Metroid on the Switch and beyond was announced! Does Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon being ported from 3DS set a precedent that Samus Returns could potentially follow? How about Pikmin 1 and 2 being released as digital games Could we see Metroid Prime Echoes and Corruption follow a similar path? More importantly, based on what we didn't see, does this put the final nail in the coffin of Metroid Prime 4 being, at the very least, a Switch-exclusive title, as all signs point toward it launching on Nintendo's next console?

This week, we had some last minute sickness ruin our recording schedule, so feast your eye on not one but TWO Metroid ROM Hack Reviews!
Metroid is a series known for its atmospheric feel, and in the latest ROM Hack Review, we’re looking at a hack that takes that atmosphere and elevates it to the next level! Created by Digital Mantra, V I T A L I T Y is a Super Metroid hack that places Samus on the planet Auriga, delving deeper into the mystery of the world and slowly realizing all is not what it seems. With an emphasis on story and atmosphere, including a huge late game twist, I’m excited to share thoughts on this dark tale! As always, you can check out the hack for yourself here!
We’re back with our (ahem) balls to the walls – Morph Balls, that is! In our latest ROM Hack Review, we’re taking a look at the unique B2-TW, a hack by Grime in which you play in Morph Ball form the entire time, jumping, bombing, puzzling, and even fighting enemies in close quarters with many a hazard around! A nice and short romp, B2-TW is definitely unique in it’s concept, but is the final product ballin’ or is it hori-ball? Come listen to find out, and click here to grab the game for yourself!

With Andy and Doom both hopelessly enamoured by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, they guys take a break from exploring Hyrule to theorize how an open world Metroid game might work! Is the open world concept antithetical to a Metroidvania game? Could you have a Metroid-equivalent for Shrines? How would visors work in this environment? Is going 3D platformer the way to go versus first person? How could you keep the concept of locks and keys while pushing the idea that you can go anywhere? Alien In Review returns! After a long layoff, Andy and Gooey Fame are back to analyze the last Alien film in the Sigourney Weaver era, the oft-derided Alien Resurrection! We talk about its themes of motherhood and artificial intelligence, comment on how the plot of the movie mirrors that of Metroid Fusion, break down some of the crazy kills, and discuss how Alien Resurrection is very, very reminiscent of one particular Metroid game, for better or worse: Metroid Other M! All this, PLUS a little Tears of the Kingdom talk to get us going!
