With Halloween right around the corner, we thought that would be cool to take a spin around the world of Metroid and talk about the scariest areas and monsters, PLUS some areas that should have been scary, but unfortunately, were not. We go over areas such as the Wrecked Ship, GFS Valhalla, and Genetics Laboratory, cover monsters like the Nightmare, Corpius, and Experiment Z-57, and talk about the lack of dread in Metroid Dread and what we might have changed in the E.M.M.I. zones.

Metroid Manga in Review returns! This time, we're talking about the third, and for our money, best volume of the manga so far! Our heroes are taking on a whole slew of enemies, including rival bounty hunters, Galactic Federation detectives, a secret arms dealer organization, and an incredible new big bad revealed at the end! We go over the artwork, including the famous shot of Samus in her cloak, the story beats, our thoughts on the growth of the series and the anime, and where the final issue could be headed!

Everybody's favorite game in the Metroid universe is back! After almost two whole years, the whole band is back together to play "Guess That Metroid Character", and this time, we've activated FUSION DIFFICULTY, limiting ourselves to only TEN yes or no questions to determine the character! Watch as Doom pulls out some deep cuts, Andy and Dak struggle to co-exist, non-cannon Metroid stuff enters the fray, and more chicanery ensures! Think you can do better than we did? The recently released Castlevania Dominus Collection gave Andy an excuse to jump back into one of his favorite Metroidvania's of all time - Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow! Andy's joined by ex-Bungie visual designer Andrew Elmore to talk Dawn of Sorrow and its incredible Soul system, the crazy amount of customization for your gameplay available, the disappointing art style change from Aria of Sorrow, the incredible bosses, the modern story setting and Soma Cruz as a protagonist, the incredible areas and bosses, Castlevania's best ever post game mode (you can play as Alucard!!), and how the Souls system could potentially influence the direction that Metroid 6 takes!

Logbook Archives returns this week to give a complete history and detailing of all of the various Gunships (or Starships, as they are also known) that Samus has piloted over the course of the franchise! We examine the history of the main ships - Super Metroid's, Zero Mission's, Fusion's, Prime 1 and Prime 3's - and talk about our favorite design aspects, who built them, what functions the are implied to have, and what our favorite and least favorite version of the ship is. We're also examining the spinoff appearances the ship has made, like in Super Smash Bros, Metroid Blast, Rocket League, and... Virtual Boy Galactic Pinball?? If you love the Gunship as much as we do, you won't want to miss this!

Mapping Metroid returns, and we're going where we've never gone before: the planet Bion from everybody's favorite spinoff Metroid Prime: Federation Force! Since the game is level based, this Mapping Metroid is a little different, as we go through and rank all seven levels on the planet! From the incredible missions like Tremor and Slipstream to the hardest and most notorious level in Federation Force, Blender, we go through and give our thoughts on the boss battles, ambivalent lore scattered throughout, musical tracks, and Bion's obsession and fascination with... mini-golf?? Having just replayed the game, Andy also gives his thoughts on what the fatal flaw of Federation Force is, and spoiler - it's not the chibi art style!
