It's the first new (and free!) ROM Hack Reviews in years, and not a moment too soon, as Andy and Doom are discussing what could arguably be called the most anticipated Metroid ROM Hack of all time: Super Metroid X-Fusion! Billed as the first ever Cross Hack between (you guessed it) Super and Metroid Fusion, we go over the good, the bad, and the ugly of this Hack. Made by Metaquarius, this hack has incredible atmosphere, heart-stopping SA-X encounters, diabolical expansion puzzles, a questionable story, and an absolutely horrific difficulty curve - we're breaking it all down, so come and listen, and feel free to give the Hack a try for yourself!

Definitive Ranking returns! This time around, we're examining the single-player campaign of Metroid Prime Hunters. We cover the good, the bad, and the ugly, as we cover the cool character designs, awesome weapons, lacklustre boss battles, OST, and the make-or-break point of the game: those darn stylus controls!
Come play along, and as always, here’s the criteria for the Definitive Rankings:
- World / Atmosphere (the vibe, the setting, the mood)
- Art Style (design of Samus, the enemies, the graphics in general)
- Story (what works, what doesn’t)
- Pacing / Progression (are there any parts that really bog the player down, or is it still fun getting lost?)
- Gameplay / “Gimmick” (what new or different gameplay aspects we like)
- Items / Abilities (how are the powerups and are they cool and practical)
- Areas (how does each individual area look, feel, play, etc.)
- Enemies / Bosses (are they fun, creative, etc.)
- Expansions / Powerups (are the expansions hidden throughout the world fun, creative, and enjoyable to collect?)
- Music (are we humming along?)
Of course, all of these are subjective, and we’re putting our critics hats on, but we want to hear what you have to say on Bluesky!

There is absolutely no time to waste, as this week, we finish off the Samus & Joey saga after 18 months and say goodbye to these characters we've grown to (sometimes begrudgingly) love. We pick up where we left off last week, with Samus, Joey, and Diesel preparing for the final battle against Greed and his henchmen, Knight and Bishop. Returning characters, babyface turns, cathartic victories, and amazing action and art make the back half of Samus & Joey Ex the best run of chapters yet, so come listen as we break down the action and bid farewell to this beloved manga.

Metroid Manga In Review is back as we prepare to finish off the Samus & Joey saga! This was a story so big and action packed, we had to split it into TWO PARTS, so we're ending things next week, but for this week, we follow our heroes as they attempt to re-acquire all of Samus's abilities that were stolen by new enemy, Greed! Samus, Joey, and Diesel face off against Greed's minions, the Deadly Six Stars in various adventures across the universe! We're giving our thoughts on each chapter and teeing things up for an epic conclusion next week!
All this, PLUS we go over the fan hysteria regarding Metroid Prime 4's lack of release date, and touch on X-Fusion, the first crossover ROM Hack in the series! Come hang out with us!

Get ready for a SOLO SPITERI show today as everyone else is away working or on vacation, but don't worry, we're still bringing the Metroid heat! On the docket today is going through and ranking every "Intro Boss" in the series. We're defining Intro Boss as the first boss you visit in the first area typically, or in the first hour or so in the game, and that will teach you important game mechanics. It's been a devastating month for the games industry; Unprecedanted amounts of layoffs in such a short period of time, multiple anticipated titles cancelled and some of the most tone deaf consolations from various people in power have understandably left a lot of us feeling empty. But in spite of the bleakness surrounding the games industry, Metroid, a series that historically doesn't sell amazingly well is still getting releases (including a certain one later this year!). Today, Doominal Crossing is joined by special guest Joey Ferris as they discuss the recent Microsoft layoffs, the state of the games industry and why Metroid is able to stay relevant in a climate that should theoretically be hostile to it.
All this, PLUS Doom talks about Zelda Dungeon raising $12K for No Kid Hungry, his recent trip to the Nintendo San Francisco Store and the duo ponder what's happening with the next 3D Mario entry.

After almost a calendar year, Alien In Review is BACK! Andy Spiteri, Gooey Fame, and Ridley Scott, returning for the first time to the franchise he created over 30 years prior to this films release! We are reviewing the earliest chronological entry into the series, 2012's Prometheus! A ambitious, philosophical movie that asks big questions and has some of the most intense body horror moments in the franchise, the guys reflect on the direction and tone of the movie, discuss the black goo and how it shares similar traits to Phazon, talk about some of the fan criticisms, give their thoughts on the Engineers, compare and contrast Elizabeth Shaw to Ellen Ripley, and debate whether Michael Fassbender's David is one of the most interesting characters in the entire anthology!

We are debuting a NEW SHOW SEGMENT this month called Arsenal Evolution, a show that takes both an in-game and real-world look at the evolution, history, and fanfare of different abilities and power-ups for Samus. We thought it was only appropriate to talk about an ability that has become synonymous with Samus herself, and has appeared in every Metroid game: the Morph Ball! We go game by game, looking at how it was utilized, the different power-ups and upgrades associated with it, the transition from 2D to 3D, and so much more!
This episode has it all, including a run in from the ice cream truck, so morph down and tell us what items you'd like to see on future Arsenal Evolution's!

One of the most intriguing Metroidvania’s in recent years has to be the announcement of Bandai Namco’s Shadow Labyrinth, not only because it looks cool, but because it’s a wildly different take on the standard Pac-Man genre. Yes, that Pac-Man, the one who eats pucks and runs away from ghosts! Reimagined as a gritty Metroidvania, this game sees you control an unnamed Swordsman, traversing a giant maze, and combining with Puck, a floating orb companion, to unleash powerful attacks!
We were excited about the game when it was announced, and our friends at Bandai Namco must have noticed, because they have supplied us with a demo copy of the game that we had Doominal take for a test drive! We're talking about his experiences with the demo, which you can watch in full here, and what worked and didn't!
We're also playing a fun game of Metroid A-Z, inspired by Nintendo's awful Nintendo Today app, so come hang out!
