Recently, our buds over at Shinesparkers wrote up an article detailing their plot concepts for what they wanted to see in Metroid 5, which got us thinking about our own story ideas we'd want to see in the long awaited sequel. Where is the setting? Does Samus start with full power ups? How does the corrupt Galactic Federation fit in? And is there any way to bring Ridley back that makes sense?

As the old saying goes, we don't know fine art, but we do know a fine Power Suit when we see one! We're ranking all of Samus's different suits she has worn over the course of the series in the same fashion as we ranked the Ridley fights! We've got 11 different suits to go through, so come hang as we debate which ones look the best, which ones function the best, and which ones make the most sense to the story!

Oh boy. Strap in because Dak and Andy are going to war over a topic near and dear to Dak's heart: Metroid Prime Hunters! We don't talk about the game itself, but the multiplayer character based shooter concept of it instead and argue whether Metroid is the right series to launch a Nintendo specific character based FPS. Do Metroid fans like multiplayer? Could Nintendo even make this game good? Does anybody remember the other Hunters? And the big one - is Metroid Prime a first person shooter?

Welcome to the very first edition of a going-to-be-semi-regular series of shows called Mapping Metroid! This series is going to focus on exploring a single area from one Metroid game and really having an in-depth discussion about it. To get us started off, the boys pick an area near and dear to them - Phendrana Drifts!
Come listen as we talk about our first impressions of Phendrana, what rooms in particular we really like, what enemies stick out to us, which powerups and expansions are cool, what we think of the music, which pieces of lore are really interesting, and so much more! This is the first Mapping Metroid, and we're on the lookout for suggestions on what to cover next!

What in the world was up with that Samus reference in the new trailer for Paper Mario: The Origami King? Was it just a coincidence, or something more? This week, Andy and Dak discuss the months long rumors about a new Paper Mario and 2D Metroid game coming to the Switch and debate what the chances a new Metroid game coming out in 2020 are now since the other half of the rumor came true.
