Logbook Archives returns this week to give a complete history and detailing of all of the various Gunships (or Starships, as they are also known) that Samus has piloted over the course of the franchise! We examine the history of the main ships - Super Metroid's, Zero Mission's, Fusion's, Prime 1 and Prime 3's - and talk about our favorite design aspects, who built them, what functions the are implied to have, and what our favorite and least favorite version of the ship is. We're also examining the spinoff appearances the ship has made, like in Super Smash Bros, Metroid Blast, Rocket League, and... Virtual Boy Galactic Pinball?? If you love the Gunship as much as we do, you won't want to miss this!

Recently in our Discord server, one of our community members posted a video talking about this very topic, which we thought would make for a good discussion! Dak and Doom dive into this topic to give their takes.

Mapping Metroid returns, and we're going where we've never gone before: the planet Bion from everybody's favorite spinoff Metroid Prime: Federation Force! Since the game is level based, this Mapping Metroid is a little different, as we go through and rank all seven levels on the planet! From the incredible missions like Tremor and Slipstream to the hardest and most notorious level in Federation Force, Blender, we go through and give our thoughts on the boss battles, ambivalent lore scattered throughout, musical tracks, and Bion's obsession and fascination with... mini-golf?? Having just replayed the game, Andy also gives his thoughts on what the fatal flaw of Federation Force is, and spoiler - it's not the chibi art style!
All this, PLUS Doom's thoughts on Alien Romulus, Andy's dog Linkin making a cameo, and our thoughts on what the heck is up with Blast Ball. Come listen and have a blast with us!

One of our most anticipated episodes of the year is finally here! Alien in Review is BACK to review the newest entry in the series: Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus! The newest Alien movie takes place in between Alien and Aliens, which is fitting as it strikes a perfect tone between the two masterpieces. Andy is joined once again by Gooey Fame to discuss Romulus in great detail! We go over the film's new cast of characters, who we liked and hope to see return, how the effects and vibe came off, what the best kills of the movie were, the new lore added to the franchise, Romulus's connections to the other entries, how this movie impacts the world of Alien going forward, and our overall review of the film! The first half is spoiler free, whereas the second half is filled with spoilers! We give a big spoiler warning, but listener beware! We also talk a little Alien: Earth, the new Hulu series being released next year and what we're hoping to see!

Following last week's show where we discussed some of our least favorite Metroid titles, Andy decided to give the single player campaign in Metroid Prime Hunters another spin to see of those critiques held up, so this week, the guys have a discussion about a bunch of different topics! We're talking about how the button vs stylus controls feel, if the game absolutely needed the Scan Visor, power ranking the various weapons Samus acquires, how the bosses stack up against others in the series, and so much more! We're back this week with a POSITIVE SPIN on some of our not-so-favorite Metroid games! We asked you what your favorite things about your least favorite Metroid games were, and we got a ton of different, positive responses! As you might imagine, lots of entries were centered around Other M and Federation Force, but from the boss fights and quality of the cutsenes in Other M to the fun co-op and customization options in Federation Force, plus the expanded world of Hunters, soundtrack of NEStroid, and actual bounty hunting found in Metroid 2, there's a lot to like this week!

After a lengthy layover, our lore-centric series Logbook Archives returns! In this episode, we're asking the million dollar question in the Metroid universe: who is Sylux?? We go over everything we know about the Hunter, from in-game lore, to official game descriptions, to developer interviews to try and determine who's behind the mask. We also give our thoughts on what we would like to see and NOT see in Beyond, PLUS we're taking your theories on Sylux's identity! Everything is on the table, from the much-panned Ian Malkovich theory, to Sylux being a former operative of the galactic Federation, to thoughts on Sylux being another survivor from K2l, to Sylux.. being Samus??

Welcome back to another week of Metroid talk! This time around, despite loving the reveal trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the guys share some of their critiques about what we saw. Each host has something a bit different that stood out to them; Doom noticed some of the animations and technical details in the trailer that underwhelmed, Dak took umbrage with the lack of new features and skills shown off, while Andy raised concerns about the timing and manner in which the trailer itself was released. There's a lot of devil's advocating in this show, so let us know if you share any of these concerns!

It's time for Part 2 of our Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Q&A! Andy and Dak are back to tackle a whole slew of questions, including: how do we think Beams will work in terms of stacking or not? Could we see bonus content if there is a Metroid Dread save file on the Switch? Will the game be significantly larger in size than previous entries? Could there be a DLC campaign where you get to play as Sylux? Could Samus have a customizable base of operations in the game? Will Retro revisit the scrapped Meta Kraid concept cor Metroid Prime 1? What is the single best and single worst thing than Metroid Prime 4 can do?
