Metroid Dread is finally here and we spent all weekend with it! Having played an extensive bit of the game, the guys offer up their initial impressions of Dread: how do the controls feel and is the game as fast as we thought it would be? How do some of the new power-ups play and feel? What's our impressions of the areas and do they have enough distinction between them? Thoughts on the difficulty, particularly as it pertains to enemies and bosses? How do we find navigating the in-game map? How awesome are the EMMI zones?!

We are THREE DAYS AWAY from Metroid Dread. Wow. It feels unbelievable, but it's true. We've seen a lot in the build up to Dread, but here, the boys are talking about their final hopes for any features that we haven't seen yet: the return of old bosses, details on the Galactic Federation, an amazing score with original tunes, new and creative monsters, post game support, and so much more!
PLUS, the guys are joined this week by Tune in with Chewie, the artist behind the recently released Samus & Chill lofi album. We chat with Chewie about the origins of the album, what his favorite Metroid tracks are, the legalities of making an album like this, and what his thoughts on the upcoming Metroid Dread are!

The big news this week in the world of video games was the Nintendo Direct that aired last Thursday, so this week, Andy and Doom are breaking down everything announced and talking about what they liked or didn't like! Come hear our thoughts on Splatoon 3, Nintendo 64 games coming to NSO, Andy ranting and raving about Kirby, Bayonetta 3, and that fever dream Mario movie casting.
All this, PLUS, this week, a Nintendo insider with a good track record of predicting games hinted that a full remake of JUST Metroid Prime 1 might be in the works. Andy and Doom have differing opinions on whether this is a good thing, or a little disappointing.

This week, we're discussing a bunch of talking points that former lead designer of Retro Studios Mike Wikan shared with Kiwi Talkz. We can't recommend listening to the full interview enough (check it out here!), but we're here to give our thoughts on a couple topics they discussed, including the secret language of the Luminoth, the difficulty of the Boost Ball Guardian, the engine used to power Metroid Prime, the development and addition of multiplayer in Echoes, the inspiration behind the Ridley fight at the beginning of Corruption, and how realistic it would be to see Trilogy on the Switch.
