Get ready for a huge solo Spiteri podcast! Andy is in the booth by himself this week, as we look back at some of the earliest episodes of the podcast and do a little post mortem on Metroid Prime 4. Remakes, remakes, remakes. You don't really want them, we don't really want them, but hey - where there's smoke, there's fire. The rumors around a Super Metroid remake have been floating around for a while, and while we would all prefer a Metroid 6 next, we talk about what we would want from this remake if it should happen. We discuss this hypothetical remake should use the Dread engine, if 2D-HD would be a good look for the game, what Zero Mission areas and content could be added, even what type of remake this could end up being.

We talk of Metroid Prime 4’s sales performance and how, given that neither the Switch 1 or Switch 2 Editions have cracked a million units sold individually, it may be high time to officially call Beyond a flop… if you hadn’t been calling it that already. Also on the docket: Switch 2 price increases, MercurySteam layoffs, Pick Your Bundle Switch 2 news, Takashi Tezuka’s retirement, and our thoughts on the Star Fox announcement.

Andy had to step out today to take care of some personal business, so Doominal Crossing is taking the wheel for a short solo episode! The premise is simple: we make a statement and give a percentage on how likely to be true that statement is, 100% being a certainty, 0% being an impossibility. Andy makes his triumphant return this week to bring to a close a celebration of 20 years of Metroid Prime Hunters. The gang are discussing what a modernized redo of the Hunters concept would look like, from having set levels with objectives versus a traditional Metroid Prime-style singleplayer campaign, to removing elements that felt awkwardly forced into a FPS such as scanning, to rotating each level between a different Hunter, to introducing counter-operative multiplayer! We are cooking with what we'd want to see, so let us know what you think!
